Share a Child's youth scholars initiated this program out of their own enthusiasm and concern for Child's Rights. Their student run organizatio, SUgbuanong Pundok Aron sugpuon and Child Abuse (SUPACA) which is the main implementing arm of the advocacy program, aims to empower fellow youth through advocacy and leadership training. For its efforts in working with young people, SUPACA was awarded one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations of 2004 by the National Youth Commission.

Child Rights Advocacy is a core program of the Share A Child which was developed in response to the organization's experiences in dealing with incidents of domestic violence and sexual abuse committed against children. Believing that children could better protect themselves if they know their rights and are taught basic rules of personal safety, the organization decided to train its own child beneficiaries to become peer educators. The first batch of peer educators decided to form themselves into organization of child rights advocates and so in August 1997, the SUgbuanong Pundok Aron sugpuon ang Child Abuse (SUPACA) came into being.

SUPACA – SUPACA is a children and young people's organization, consisting of child rights advocates from 15 public high schools and five communities. It was formed out of the belief that children and young people have rights, as mandated under the UN Convention on Rights of the Child, most specifically, rights to survival, development, protection and participation. It regularly performs information campaigns in schools and in communities. Three of its members have served in the National Children's Sectoral Council of the National Anti-Poverty Commission and have sat in various regional councils in Region VII. One boy served as one of the four Philippine representatives to the Children and Young People's Forum in Bangkok , Thailand in April 2002 and took part in the discussions of the document “World Fit for Children” which was presented to the UN General Assembly Special Session on Children. SUPACA members are actively performing as junior broadcasters and journalists in such media programs as the nationally televised Kabataan News Network (KNN) and DYAB Bantay Bata 163 of the ABS-CBN Network. In July 2004, SUPACA was awarded one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization (TAYO) by the National Youth Commission (NYC) and its president, Diana Aspiras, went to the Malacanang Palace to receive the award from Her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines . Because of the success of SUPACA, the City of Cebu recognized the efforts of the Share A Child Movement in promoting the rights of the child and child protection by giving it a “Most Outstanding Institution” award in February 2004 during the city's 2004 Charter Day celebrations.
